Often people will look at houses like the Vernon and try to identify the style as a Cape Cod. It's easy to see why. Like a Cape, the Minimal Traditional is a very simple, unadorned style, but instead it often has a cross-gabled roof. The eaves are very close and there is little fussy detail. Other than the windows, latticed front porch, and paneled entry, there is no ornamentation.
